Terms and Conditions

Who you are buying from

MolQuill is made and sold by Ryan Williams, a sole proprietor trading as MolQuill, in the United States. Contact: purchase@molquill.com.

Orders are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the merchant of record for every purchase. Paddle handles payment, invoicing and sales tax, and your purchase is also subject to Paddle's buyer terms.

What you get

The browser version of MolQuill is free to use and has every feature.

The desktop application costs $20 as a one-time purchase. It is a perpetual licence for version 1.x, for one person, on as many of that person's own computers as they like, across Linux, Windows and macOS. There is no activation, no licence server and no expiry, and the software does not contact us or require an internet connection to run.

The price covers updates within version 1.x. A future major version may be a separate purchase.

What you may do with it

Install it and use it for any purpose, personal, academic or commercial. Drawings you make are yours, and nothing in these terms gives us any claim over them or over the files you open.

You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute the software itself, or remove its copyright notices.

Refunds

Thirty days, no questions asked. The full policy is on the refund page.

Warranty and liability

MolQuill is provided as it is, without warranty of any kind. It is version 1.0, written and maintained by one person, and the known limitations are listed on the front page.

Chemical structure drawings are yours to check. The software computes formulas, masses and stereochemical descriptors, and it is tested, but you are responsible for verifying anything you publish or rely on. To the fullest extent the law allows, liability for any claim connected with the software is limited to the amount you paid for it.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and you may have statutory rights as a consumer that these terms do not affect.

Changes

These terms may change for future purchases. The version in force is the one published on this page on the day you bought, and the date at the top says when it last changed.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States.
